Hello! My name is Derek. I've spent my entire career in different ecommerce functions across many different types of organizations. Much of my ecommerce and digital marketing foundation started on the agency side, managing paid media across Google, Amazon, and social for both online-only and nationally distributed CPG brands. Early on I realized the biggest bottleneck was usually data clarity and understanding, not budget or strategy. I started building internal tools to fix that: search query analyzers, predictive performance dashboards, anything that helped surface insights faster.
From there I moved brand-side, where I've spent many years leading ecom and retail media activation across almost all of the major retail and DTC platforms. Managing close to $250M in ad spend, ranging from $5k to $5M a month, across both sides of the table made one thing obvious: platforms and agencies are incentivized to report what makes them look good. Knowing what to look for, and what questions to ask, can make all the difference.
VerifiedROI was born out of those experiences. The goal is simple: give emerging and mid-sized brands the tools to better understand how their dollars are being spent, without needing to be in the weeds themselves. Once you better understand your data, connecting the data points that actually matter to the rest of your business becomes clearer.
